The 2019 Utah Association of Youth City Councils Scholarships of $300 each will be awarded to two outstanding youth members of active Youth City Councils.
In order to be considered for the scholarship, a person must meet the following criteria:
- Be a graduating senior in high school in the 2018-2019 academic year
- Participate as a member of a local Youth City Council that is a currently active with the Utah Association of Youth City Councils
- Apply to his/her own adult advisor with any criteria set by the advisor, council, and/or city
- Be accepted to an accredited college, university, or trade school
As mentioned above, any youth interested in this scholarship should apply to the advisor of his or her youth council. Each council may establish additional criteria to help the advisor select a deserving youth member, but the board is intentionally leaving this open to allow for each council to approach this in a way that works for them.
Advisors should review eligible applicants and then must write a letter of no more than 100 words recommending only ONE scholarship candidate from each council. The letter should explain why this person is deserving of a scholarship and may include endorsements from city leaders and other members of the community, including youth.
You may also include a link to a video (5 min or less) or image gallery that represents the person’s contributions to his/her Youth City Council and community. Please DO NOT attach video or image files to the letter via email.
Please submit only one letter per Youth City Council. You may submit by email to email@example.com or through the mail to:
